The National Park Service recently updated its regulations to give local superintendents more flexibility in managing e-scooters, hoverboards, and other powered devices. These devices were previously lumped in with cars and trucks, but the new framework allows them to be used on sidewalks and paved paths where deemed appropriate. It is important to note that these devices remain strictly prohibited in designated wilderness areas, and the rule does not change existing access laws for visitors with disabilities.
