Working Dogs for Conservation recently spent a week in Jackson helping Teton County Weed and Pest District locate invasive plants along the Snake River. Canines Ace, Fenton, and Quinn tracked saltcedar and perennial pepperweed, and were also trained this year to distinguish invasive phragmites from native varieties. Early detection by these teams helps prevent aggressive species from crowding out native plants and causing stream bank erosion.
