The Town of Jackson recently updated its natural resource standards and approved a new development plan for 32 apartments at the Virginian Lodge. Starting August 1, the "Bear Conflict Zone" is expanding, meaning more residents will be required to use bear-resistant trash containers to prevent wildlife encounters. Other local initiatives include the launch of a Community Streets Plan to improve pedestrian and bike safety, as well as new water conservation guidelines for summer irrigation.
