Starting October 31, residents can drop off up to 500 pounds of yard waste at the transfer station for free. Free compostable bags are available at select spots beginning October 26, and a collection event at the fairgrounds will follow on November 6.

Residents can pick up free compostable bags starting October 26 at designated locations in Jackson while supplies last. The program allows for up to 500 pounds of residential waste per household at the Trash Transfer Station or a one-day collection at the Rodeo Grounds. Everything collected is composted locally to keep organic materials out of the landfill.
