MLB drops Grand Teton game idea

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred says the league will no longer consider Grand Teton National Park for a game after local leaders raised concerns.
In an October 1 letter to Teton County Commission Chair Mark Newcomb, Mayor Arne Jorgensen and Chamber CEO Rick Howe, Commissioner Rob Manfred said MLB never had a formal plan to play in the park. The idea was in early review alongside many other sites, and no environmental study or community outreach had happened yet. Manfred said it is now clear locals don't want it, so MLB will not keep evaluating Grand Teton as a site. He pointed to past special games at Fort Bragg, Williamsport, Rickwood Field, Field of Dreams and Bristol as proof the league leaves venues better than it finds them.
