Biologists have noticed a decline in Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout larger than five inches in the Little Greys River, even though smaller fish populations are holding steady. Jackson Hole Trout Unlimited is funding specialized PIT and VIE tags to help the Wyoming Game and Fish Department track juvenile movement through the watershed. Local volunteers are also heading into the field to provide hands-on assistance with the research to help determine why the larger fish are disappearing.
