The park’s Geology Team recovered a variety of lost items from hydrothermal areas during the 2026 summer season, including over 280 hats and 54 lens caps. Other strange finds included rubber ducks, fortune cookie fortunes, Invisalign retainers, and even a two-inch copy of The Vampire Diaries. This collection serves as a reminder for visitors near Jackson to keep a tight grip on their belongings and trash while exploring the geyser basins.
