Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle collision on the Pass that occurred Monday night. A child traveling in an RV was flown to the hospital with severe injuries.

The crash occurred around 9:00 PM on August 17 and involved a passenger vehicle and an RV pulling a trailer. While initial reports suggested a much larger pileup and a HAZMAT situation, troopers confirmed only two vehicles were involved and the spill was minor. The pass was closed for several hours following the incident while a juvenile passenger from the motorhome was airlifted for emergency care.
