Danny Shervin, a fifth-generation resident of Jackson, left a career in finance to become a full-time artist after his gunpowder-burned designs went viral online. He creates wildlife and Western scenes by meticulously arranging smokeless gunpowder on canvas and lighting it to scorch permanent images into the surface. His work has since been featured by major brands like ESPN, Disney, and the "Mission: Impossible" film franchise.
