Yellowstone National Park has suspended fishing on several rivers due to high water temperatures that are fatal to trout. The restrictions will remain in place until conditions improve enough to protect the fish populations.

The Madison, Firehole, and Gibbon rivers are closed to fishing starting July 15 due to water temperatures reaching up to 86 degrees. These conditions have already led to reports of dead fish and are considered lethal for trout. Other lakes and streams in the area remain open for now while staff monitor the weather for cooler temperatures.
