Police arrested a motorcyclist for reckless driving and fleeing after two high-speed chases through town on August 14. Officers handled over 1,200 calls last week and attended the Gallatin Crossing Summer Block Party.

Officers initially declined to chase the speeding motorcyclist to avoid a public safety risk after the driver fled a traffic stop while doing a wheelie. The suspect was later arrested for reckless driving and fleeing after being spotted again and attempting to escape by riding the wrong way down a sidewalk. Outside of enforcement, the department also sent staff to the Gallatin Crossing Summer Block Party to hand out stickers to local children.
