Rising river temperatures have triggered new hoot-owl restrictions and a full closure across several southwest Montana rivers to protect coldwater fish. These changes affect stretches of the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Gallatin, East Gallatin, Jefferson, Madison, Ruby, and Sun rivers. Anglers are encouraged to check the official Waterbody Closures and Restrictions map for specific details before heading out.
