Rising river temperatures have triggered new hoot-owl restrictions and a full closure across several southwest Montana rivers to protect coldwater fish. These changes affect stretches of the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Gallatin, East Gallatin, Jefferson, Madison, Ruby, and Sun rivers.
